The Subjectivity of Morality and the Right to Autonomy

In the grand tapestry of human existence, the threads of morality are woven in myriad hues. Each individual, each society, each tribe, if you will, perceives these colors through their unique lens. This is the crux of the debate surrounding gender-affirming care, a topic that has recently been thrust into the limelight by @GovChristie and @jeffcharlesjr.

Chris Christie, a figure known for his rotund size, forthright views and expert debate skills, recently voiced his stance on the issue. He argued that when it comes to a child and a parent making medical decisions, it is their personal business and there should be no laws against that.

Christie, with his political acumen and intellect, has shown a talent for climbing the political ladder, no small feat considering the weight of his ambitions. In his pursuit to keep the corporate media and donors within his gravitational pull, he's made some hefty claims, including a recent one where he pushed George Washington aside like a light snack to serve up a full course of Woodrow Wilson, arguably one of the most destructive presidents in history. But when Christie lands a point, it's only fair to acknowledge it. Let's clear the buffet table and let the man have his moment.

Jeff Charles is not just any writer; he's a thought-provoking commentator and a self-described libertarian nerd, often sharing his insights on Red State as a frequent contributor. His works often revolve around promoting liberty, advocating for the essential principles of libertarianism. One of the cornerstones of this ideology is the idea of decentralization, which endorses the autonomy of smaller groups that share common values to govern themselves. It's a perspective that champions freedom and diversity.

However, in a recent piece, Charles deviated from this principle. In this particular article on Red State, he argued that certain treatments, which in his view have the potential to cause "irreversible damage", should not be permitted for use on children, even with medical and parental approval. This viewpoint is at odds with libertarianism, sparking a debate on the nature of liberty and self-governance.

Charles acknowledges parental rights but draws a line when it comes to certain treatments. He states, "Sure, parents have the right to seek treatment for their children…but…certain types of treatments that have been shown to cause irreversible damage should not be allowed to be used on children".

Adding another layer to this debate, President Joe Biden recently weighed in on the issue. On June 12, 2023, he tweeted a video with a clear message: "LGBTQI+" kids are "all our kids." He stated, "These are our kids. These are our neighbors. Not somebody else’s kids; they’re all our kids. And our children are the kite strings that hold our national ambitions aloft," Biden continued. "It matters a great deal how we treat everyone in this country. LGBTQ Americans, especially children, you are loved, you are heard, and this administration has your back."

Echoing Biden's sentiment, it seems Charles is also adopting a similar stance. Is he implying that your children's medical decisions are now under his purview? It appears that Charles believes he has a duty to protect "LGBTQ children" from their parents. If that wasn't his intention, he wouldn't be involving himself in their affairs.

Whether someone agrees with gender-affirming care or not is irrelevant. The heart of the issue is Charles' argument against parents' right to make medical decisions for their children, based on his belief that the "damage* is irreversible. As perplexing as it may be, society hasn't reached a consensus on this.

If there's a case of buyer's remorse, the civil court system stands as the appropriate avenue for redress. There are multiple cases working through the judicial system at this moment, one of those being Chloe Cole v. Kaiser Permanente

@ChoooCole was a member of Kaiser Permanente in 2016. She sought treatment for gender dysphoria and relied on the medical and mental health professionals at Kaiser Permanente to provide her with appropriate care. However, she alleges that the care she received was negligent and caused her severe harm. Consequently, she is suing Kaiser Permanente for medical malpractice, emotional distress, fraud, unfair business practices, and other business-related claims.

"My teenage life has been the culmination of excruciating pain, regret, and most importantly injustice,” Cole said. “I have been emotionally and physically damaged and stunted by so-called medical professionals in my most important developmental period. I was butchered by an institution that we trust more than anything else in our lives. What is worse is that I am not alone in my pain. I will see to the fact that the blood and tears of detransitioners like myself will not lay waste. It is impossible for me to recoup what I have lost, but I will insure no children will be harmed at the hands of these liars and mutilators.” ~ Chloe Cole

As Cole's case illustrates, perspectives on medical care can be deeply subjective and intimately tied to an individual’s personal journey. In response to Charles' argument, one might consider the analogy of two people looking at the same thing with opposite points of view. What one person perceives as a beautiful sunset, another might see as the onset of darkness. Similarly, what one person perceives as 'irreversible damage', another might see as a necessary step towards affirming their true identity. Through this lens, Chloe's experience serves as a poignant reminder that healthcare can be as much about personal perception as it is about clinical outcomes.

Some of the physical changes of gender affirming care are objectively irreversible.

Mayo clinic: Some of the physical changes caused by masculinizing hormone therapy can be reversed if you stop taking testosterone. Others, such as a deeper voice, a larger clitoris, scalp hair loss, and increased body and facial hair, cannot be reversed.

Subjectivity emerges once the concept of "damage" is introduced into the equation. Consequently, the definition of 'irreversible damage' becomes subjective, prompting the argument that parents should retain the authority to navigate the delicate balance of risk and reward when making critical health decisions for their children, in collaboration with healthcare experts. Any contrary perspective, in light of this, is an appeal to authority, undermining the crucial role of parental agency.

When moral foundations are incompatible, peaceful secession is not just a possible solution, but the only solution. This was aptly illustrated in a Twitter thread by George Styles, who posed a thought-provoking question: "One tribe views murder as wrong, another tribe views it as a necessary ritual, and another just enjoys it... Which tribe is wrong?" The response to this question was clear: No opinion is wrong, but they obviously can't share the same government though because their moral foundations aren't compatible.

This argument extends to other areas of bodily autonomy as well, including abortion and COVID vaccines. Just as each strand in a mosaic contributes to the overall image without interfering with the others, so too should a person's medical decisions remain private, integrated into the fabric of their life without the intrusive hand of government disturbing the pattern.

Government, particularly at the state level, already holds sway over healthcare through the licensing of medical doctors. This level of influence should be the limit, as any overreach can precipitate unintended consequences.

3/ Consider the case of Ivermectin, a relatively inexpensive drug, in the treatment of COVID-19. The looming shadow of government pressure has prompted many doctors to tread carefully, fostering a climate of reluctance around its prescription. The efficacy of Ivermectin against COVID-19 should be a matter strictly confined to the consultation room between the patient and the doctor. This mirrors the private decision-making process in gender care treatments, which should involve only the parent, child, and doctor.

Watching people trying to impose their moral codes on each other is a spectacle best avoided. In instances where unsurmountable moral incompatibilities arise, as is the issue here, peaceful secession is the sole viable resolution.

While it is important to remain receptive to alternative approaches, it seems that, thus far, the prevailing tendency has been to resort to power struggles and the imposition of directives.

After all, in the aforementioned grand tapestry of human existence, each thread of morality adds to the richness of the design, and it is this diversity that makes the tapestry so beautiful.

This beauty can only be preserved if we avoid forcing one moral foundation over another, a situation that leads to civil conflict.

If one's concerns over peaceful separation are merely the details of the divorce, then they have already tacitly agreed that the divorce is necessary.

If one does not agree with the idea of a peaceful separation, then they have already entered into an agreement with civil conflict.

The crossroads we face isn't about choosing peace over war. It's about deciding whether we want to navigate a diplomatic divergence or continue riding the current of escalating tensions that's already splintered our society.

Google "We Have No Moat, And Neither Does OpenAI"

Summarized in ten bullet points

The article discusses Google's recent statement that they have "no moat," and analyzes what this means for the tech giant. Here are ten key points from the article:

1. A "moat" is a competitive advantage that protects a company from competitors. Google has historically had a strong moat due to its dominance in search and advertising.

2. In a recent memo, Google's head of search and assistant, Prabhakar Raghavan, stated that Google has "no moat" and that its competition is "nipping at our heels."

3. This statement is surprising, given Google's history of dominance in search and advertising. However, it reflects the increasing competition that Google is facing from companies like Amazon and Facebook.

4. Google is still a very successful company, with a market capitalization of over $1 trillion. However, its growth rate has slowed in recent years.

5. The rise of voice search and smart speakers represents a particular challenge for Google, as it threatens to erode its dominance ...

Haitian Immigrants USED to DESTROY the American Dream – Wages TANK Nationwide
Elites LAUGH as American Workers Become ‘FENTANYL ZOMBIES’ – The Next Generation of Exploited Labor

The chaos unfolding in Springfield, Ohio, and other towns across the United States is a direct result of our federal government’s negligence. This isn't about blaming the immigrants themselves but about the system that enables this exploitation. The government is handing them a golden opportunity while hard-working Americans are being left behind.

Take the Haitians coming here. They're fleeing absolute hell. Cities like Cap-Haïtien and Port-au-Prince are drowning in garbage, with piles of trash that reach 7 feet high, clogging the streets and markets. Vendors sell food near piles of rotting waste, and flies cover everything. People walk through contaminated water, and desperate Haitians eat pets like cats. These are the conditions they’re running from, so of course, some of them work hard when they arrive here. They don’t have the luxury of choice—they’re running from death and squalor.

Now, at McGregor Metal in Springfield, CEO Jamie McGregor is thrilled that his Haitian workers are reliable. “They come to work every day, achieve their numbers, and are here to work,” he says. These might be the best workers out of the bunch, but let’s not pretend this doesn’t have serious consequences for the American worker. Haitian illegals are being used to suppress wages, plain and simple. You’re bringing in cheap labor from desperate people who’ll work under conditions most Americans wouldn’t tolerate based on the pay.

Let’s get something straight: if you took a literal slave from the 1860s and put them in these same conditions, they’d work their ass off too. Does that make it right? Is this how we justify illegal immigration—because the workers are on time and work hard? Great! I respect their work ethic, but when are we going to talk about how wages are being suppressed across the board? When are we going to acknowledge the fact that one man used to be able to work a job, buy a house, take his family on vacation every year while his wife was the homemaker, and live the American Dream? That dream is dead because wages are tanking, and no one in power wants to talk about it. Actually, the American Dream isn’t dead—it’s just outsourced. The American Dream is alive and well if you dream of living paycheck to paycheck.

The real scandal here is the Democratic Party and their corporate allies. They've turned into the American party of slavery, exploiting immigrant labor to keep wages low while lining their own pockets. They're doing exactly what plantation owners did in the past—bringing in cheap labor, crushing the American worker, and pretending it’s all for the greater good. It's disgusting. The Democrats used to pretend to stand for the working man. Now they stand on the working man while waving a rainbow flag, yelling ‘progress.’

This is how leftists became the party of slavery in America. Notice how pro-labor leftists have no problem with this. The labor unions SUPPORT it! Let’s name a couple: the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations and the Service Employees International Union. These unions are supposed to be for the workers! If you’re for the workers, you can’t be for increasing the supply of workers in the marketplace. It’s simple economics. But they aren’t stopping there. Unions representing over 19 million workers have lined up in support of Joe Biden or Kamala Harris—19 million American workers supporting their own economic demise by backing the very policies that are flooding the market with cheap labor and suppressing wages.

Kamala Harris says she’s fighting for the workers. Yeah, like how a boxer fights for the punching bag.

And don’t think for a second that this system is sustainable. You can import a new generation of desperate workers, but what happens down the line? These immigrants, exploited for their labor, will end up just like the American workers who came before them—drug-addicted and hopeless. They’re the next generation of fentanyl zombies because we’re importing labor to avoid dealing with the real problems in our society. It’s not about just having hard-working immigrants here. It's about the broken system we refuse to fix.

They say fentanyl addiction is a crisis. No, the real crisis is finding a job where the salary doesn’t make you want to try fentanyl.

Let’s go further: maybe we should implement an initiative where they’re shipped over by boat. After millions arrive, wages will be driven down to zero dollars an hour, and they'd still work. We could even auction them off to the highest bidder and compensate them with room and board. It could be called the Chains for Change Program. That’s where we’re headed if this continues, and everyone knows it.

In previous generations, immigrants from Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Poland, and Germany came to America and worked their way up from nothing. They weren’t handed welfare, free housing, or "magic cards" with bottomless pits of taxpayer money. They earned their place here through grit and perseverance. But today, these new waves of immigrants are being given government support from the moment they arrive. The federal government is pouring taxpayer money into their housing, transportation, and even accidents they might get into. How is that fair? How can anyone look at this and not see a rigged system?

Look at Springfield, where the population has exploded by over 20 percent in just 4 years, mostly due to immigration. Local schools, hospitals, and public services are completely overwhelmed. Even JD Vance, the GOP vice-presidential candidate, has called out how these Haitian immigrants are “draining social services and causing chaos.” He’s right. This is happening all over the country, and it's only getting worse.

But let’s not pretend it’s just about the “good immigrants” who are here to work. Many of them are bringing trouble, and they’re coming into a society already collapsing under the weight of drug addiction and economic despair. Forget health insurance—pretty soon your job will be offering ‘fentanyl zombie benefits’ to help you blend in with the workforce. Yes, American workers are becoming fentanyl zombies. No one should take responsibility for that more than Americans themselves, but that doesn’t mean the system is one we should be proud of. The system is clearly failing us, and now the government is importing a new workforce to repeat the same cycle. The elites love this setup because it keeps them in power while everyday Americans suffer.

In the end, the federal government is responsible for this mess, not the immigrants themselves. They’re just doing what they need to survive. But the government’s refusal to address the collapse of our economy, the suppression of wages, and the destruction of the American Dream is the real crime here. The problem isn’t that immigrants are working hard—it’s that they’re being used as tools to avoid fixing the real issues tearing our country apart.

Ye's Explosive Clash with TMZ: Superhero Claims & Reporter Showdown
Ye confronts TMZ reporter Melanie Miller in a tense exchange over questions about Bianca Censori's autonomy.

Ye UNLEASHES Fury on TMZ Reporter, Claims SUPERHERO Status in TENSE Confrontation

The incident involving Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and TMZ reporter Melanie Miller occurred on January 29, 2024, as Ye was approached by Miller who asked him a provocative question about his wife, Bianca Censori.

The question was about her autonomy within their relationship.

Miller inquired, "Hey Kanye, how you doing, it's good to see you – people want to know if Bianca has her free will? Some people are saying you are controlling her".

This question was perceived by Ye as disrespectful and led to him snatching the reporter's phone, reminiscent of the Mortal Kombat character Scorpion's spear move, famously known as "Get over here!" This moment sparked widespread attention and discussion.

Following the altercation, Ye offered Miller a job, suggesting he would pay her double her current salary, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.

Miller later expressed her feelings about the encounter, highlighting her view that Ye's actions were disrespectful and indicative of his attitude towards women. She noted that her intention was to give Ye an opportunity to address rumors about his control over Censori, but the interaction quickly escalated.

This incident has fueled conversations about celebrity encounters with the media, boundaries, and the treatment of women in such interactions.

The event was highly publicized, with various perspectives shared on social media and news outlets, reflecting the complex nature of celebrity interactions and the scrutiny of personal relationships in the public eye.

It also led to discussions on whether Ye's focus has shifted negatively. Previously, he challenged figures of authority like Donald Trump, Netanyahu, and others; now, he targets overweight TMZ reporters.

Furthermore, questions arise regarding how much Ye's separation from Nick Fuentes has impacted him both in terms of his faith and politically.
